September Canoe Event

Details:

Sunday, September 25, 2011

Arrival/Sign-in: 12:30 PM at Riverside Park parking lot

Launch Time: 1:00 PM from Riverside Park

2 Dads and their daughters per canoe (450 pound limit per canoe)

Approximately 2.5 hours to complete the Fox River course (about 6.5 miles)

Late lunch will be served after the event at the Riverside Park Pavilion

Life jackets and paddles provided by Tip-a-Canoe Canoes

Each Tribe will need to park several cars at the pick-up point (about 10 minutes

away) prior to launching at 1:00 PM

Remember to bring:

Bathing suits and change of clothes

Sunscreen/bug spray

Squirt guns

Seat cushions for the canoe for girls to kneel

Cooler with beverages in canoe

Cost:

$40.00 per dad and one daughter and must be paid in advance!

$5.00 for each additional daughter

Regular registration ends September 7th!.

Late registration 8th thru 15th $5.00 extra

 

Event Highlights:

Great for daughters and dads of all ages

Life vests available, but bring your own if you have them

Let your Chief know if you have a canoe/kayak you might want to bring

Mandatory that everyone brings squirt guns!

“Taste of Cherokee” lunch provided at Riverside Park Pavilion

Only 30 canoes available, so space is limited and we’ll prioritize those who paid! And on a first reservation basis only

Directions to Riverside Park Pavilion in Burlington, WI:

Route 12 North

Right on Wilmot Road (North)

Enter Wisconsin, road becomes CR-W (Fox River Road) at Route 50, go left on 50

Right on Route 83 North

Follow signs for Route 83 North and as you get into downtown Burlington, Route 83 turns into

Bridge Street

Stay on Bridge Street and at the 3rd light (Adrian’s Custard is on the corner) turn right (East) onto

Congress Street and go East for 0.2 miles

Right into Pavilion Park

Directions to Car Drop-off First and Then to Riverside Park Pavilion

Car Drop-off First on the Way to Burlington

Route 12 North

Right on Wilmot Road (North)

Enter Wisconsin, road becomes CR-W (Fox River Road)

at Route 50, go left on 50

Right on Route 83 North

Right on JB (31st Street)

Leave cars on this side of the river in order to bring people back at the end of canoeing

Continue to Riverside Park Pavilion

Go West on JB (31st Street)

Right on Route 83 (Pine Street)

Follow signs for Route 83 North and as you get into downtown Burlington, Route 83 turns into

Bridge Street
